He represented Hiram Lodge No. 7 and Cumberland Lodge No. 8 , at the formation of the
Grand Lodge December 27, 1813, when he was chosen Grand Master. He affiliated with
Cumberland Lodge No. 8 at Nashville, June 18, 1818. He was charter member of
Cumberland Chapter No. 1 Royal Arch Masons.
